Consider Sin
Your wickedness will punish you, and your apostasies will convict you. Know and see that it is evil and bitter for you to forsake the Lord your God; the fear of me is not in you, says the Lord God of hosts. — Jer 2:19
- a pastor running thru a red light
- sin exposed!
- sin by nature is denial; it is fatal to deny (instead of “know and see”)
- deny God and thinking God is keeping your from the good things
- sin has misplaced awe
- instead of being in awe of God, we are in awe of our own wisdom and become self-pity
- “when you have self-pity, you are capable of anything” (!)
